A New Day

It's 5:30a.m.
A time of reflection
I'm peering through the window
Taking in dawn's darkness
Marveling at the essence of its beauty
As it guides me to tranquility
The purples and blues
The in between hues
The way the sun slowly peeks through
Oranges slowly flooding the blues
The sun's rays eagerly replacing the grays
Supplying the world with a new daylight
As chirping birds proceed to take flight
I ask for His grace on this new day
Relinquishing yesterday's guilt and fear
Starting anew
